PUNKOBIT

The death has been announced of Twisted Method guitarist Andy Howard. The band had been on an hiatus since Howard quit back in May, claiming he wanted to spend more time with his newborn twin daughters.

Hailing from Cape Coral in Florida, the band came together as fourteen year-olds, doing the usual microcircuit stints at pep rallies and talent shows, before having their lucky moment when they were invited to open for another band's label showcase gig; they were snapped up by a manager who managed to persuade MCA the band were quite the thing. Their luck was starting to run thin, though, and the album Escape From Cape Coma and an early doors position on the 2003 Ozzfest failed to generate much interest.

Following Howard's departure, Tripp and Derek from the band went on to form a new outfit, Makeshift Romeo.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the 23 year-old's cause of death; he had known "heart and lung problems" according to his manager.
