"IT'S ALL BEEN A TERRIBLE MISTAKE"

Pete Doherty has been released from his Telford police station cell, with, as you'd expect, a protestation or two of his innocence:

"It's just some sort of mistake, that's all."

He says that he thinks the police might have confused his famous anti-heroin implants for actual heroin. Possibly, although equally they might have confused some crack cocaine with some crack cocaine.

Tonight's show in Norwich had been cancelled when it was clear that Pete might not get out of Shropshire on time.
