WELLER: THE STORY CHANGING MAN

Last week, Paul Weller was telling Radio 4 that he was accepting the Brit award for being outstanding something or other because he "finks its justified". He seems to have realised that just looks a little needy now, and he's decided that, actually, he's only accepting the gong so he can pay tribute to his sick father.

It's a nice gesture, Paul, but it's usually best to come up with this sort of justification before you start giving the interviews, and not halfway through.
