BRAGG TAKES ON THE BNP

Taking time off from designing plans to reform the House of Lords, Billy Bragg has launched an attack on the BNP and their "record label" Great White Records.

It seems the group have reworked Woody Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land and included it on a compilation of idiotic hate songs.

Now, you'll know that we're not a big fan of copyright laws as they stand round here, but the clause which makes it neccesary to get the approval of the original songwriter (or their estate) before making changes to their songs is a pretty fair one. And it's that which Bragg and the Guthrie family are planning to use to take the CD out of circulation.

We know the BNP aren't the smartest, but surely even they must know what Woody Guthrie had written on his guitar?
