LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

If you're not screwing up last night's lottery ticket in despair and fancy investing in a spot of rock history, Rockfield Studios are up for sale.

They were the studios the Charlatans were recording at when Rob Collins had his fatal accident; in a twelve month period between mid 96 and 97, five albums recorded at the Monmouth complex went to number one - the Charlatans, Oasis, Ash, Black Grape and the Boo Radleys. But its heritage stretches back far futher than its position as the Britpop forge: Dave Edmunds I Hear You Knocking was its first number one; and all the multilayering of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was laid down there.

The cost? A not unreasonable £690,000, which will get you the two studios, two acres, an eight bedroom property and 2000 yards of trout fishing rights.
