NOT THAT ROB ZOMBIE ENJOYS FLOGGING DEAD HORSES, OR ANYTHING
As if the series hadn't already had the life (and, indeed, death) kicked out of it, Rod Zombie is resurrecting the Halloween series.
Apparently, he's got the blessing of John Carpenter:
"He was very supportive, which I thought was very important," said Zombie.
"I feel like Halloween is his baby, and I wanted to be very respectful."
The new film will disregard the numerous sequels that followed Halloween.
"Halloween started off as a very terrifying concept, a terrifying movie. But over the years, Michael Myers has become a friendly Halloween mask," Zombie said.
"But I think the story and the situation is scary. All it needed was someone to come in and to take a totally different approach to make it scary again."
Perhaps he can explain away the sequels (including Halloween 20, which, if memory serves, was supposed to make the series scary again) by suggesting they were all dreams.
