GIRLS ALOUD CARRY ON AS BARRIERS FALL

We raise a curious eyebrow at reports that Girls Aloud continued their V festival performance in the face of security scare, especially since what seems to have happened was the barriers at the front giving way, which is nothing to do with the security of the band and everything to do with the safety of the fans.

Surely, though, if there was any real risk of something nasty happening in the audience the right decision would have been to ice the GA appearance, at least until things were sorted? There's been too many deaths at festivals for organisers to put completing sets ahead of keeping their customers safe.

the real question is, who is your favorite Girls Aloud member?
I bet I've asked you before.

I suppose it depends on what criteria you're asking me to decide.

But I think it's probably Nicola.

And yours?

weirdly for V, who still persist on putting on acts far too big for the tent, on in the tent, the security in place outside the tent was threadbare. Girls Aloud may not be a typical festival band but they are one of the country's biggest pop acts and with the crowd at V being more mainstream than any other it's easy to predict they're going to be a big draw, especially when combined with an alternative line up that didn't offer much in the way of competition genre-wise (Beck was on the mainstage). Men were leaping and lifting their girlfriends over the four foot barriers with ease as security were forced to man the channels they'd made from the too-short barriers. The tent was over-crowded by at least hundreds. Many people (including friends) were leaving due to the feeling of unease that comes when forced to recall previous festival crush scenarios. It was probably this more than any careful back-up plan by security that prevented anything nasty from developing. - Elvis

Nicola is the only correct answer.

Elvis - good point; and I'd imagine that a Girls Aloud audience are going to be more likely to not push forward when things start to get shaky than a rock audience for whom the risk is part of the fun

Claire, please show your working for this answer

Popjustice.com already has, I'll find the link if you need further proof. Perhaps you don't believe me, but surely you believe them.
