STOP IT NOW, TARA

As if pop wasn't suffering enough at the hands of Paris Hilton, now it looks like Tara Palmer Tomkinson is really plotting to release a record.

Apparently, it's the logic end for her beaver:

"Tara has been quietly beavering away on this for a while. In the past 10 years, she's gone from IT girl to reality TV star to TV presenter. Now she wants to try her hand at something completely different. And what better way to showcase her talents than to go back to what she does best?"

Getting whacked out her gourd on cocaine and champagne? How is that going to sell records?

The way things have been going it had to happen. This is all your fault, Wiener!

You can probably understand why I can't bring myself to retrospectively hate old-school posh people so much anymore.

Er, aren't "[trying] her hand at something completely different" and "[going] back to what she does best" quite contradictory ideas?

They are, of course, but since when did that bother her kind?

It's amazing, in retrospect, to think that we used to think of the old elite as trying to interfere with the cultural forms the rest of us do best; maybe they tried to censor them in various ways, or keep them off BBC airwaves or out of the pages of the Times or Telegraph, but they never actually tried to *do* them, which is really far more insulting.

(incidentally, are you the Chris Brown I know from the UK music ngs? I doubt whether the "Run It!" bloke reads this blog.)
