MY FAVOURITE SONGS

No sooner has Q magazine decided, definitevly what the best songs of all time are than NME.com kicks off its own attempt to decide what the best song since September 1996 might be. (That was when the then-yellow nme.com launched). They sent us a lovely tshirt to mark the occasion, as we were amongst the first 100 to ask for one. Now? They couldn't care less if we were naked.

Anyway, this is how they frame the search:

From Beck's 'Devils Haircut' back in 1996, to the Arctic Monkeys' 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' last year, what has been the one song that's shone out over the last decade?

Neither of them, to be honest.

There's going to be a disco to celebrate, with Kasabian playing live. Aptly, because they do sound like they could have come at any point in the last ten years without sounding any more out of place than they do in 2006.
