THEY SAY THE DEVIL HAS ALL THE BEST TUNES

And, you'd have thought, the Lord looks after his own.

But reading the trail of misfortunes which befell Evanessence as they tried to make another album of gothish Christian rock, you'd have to wonder if the God they worship is in charge of the universe, why he seemed so keen for them not to bother:

Bassist William Boyd quit in mid-July, singer Amy Lee's ex-boyfriend entered rehab, and guitarist Terry Balsamo suffered a stroke.

Boyd quit because he could not face another lengthy tour; he was replaced by Tim McCord, former guitarist with Rendition Smile.

And the record doesn't hit the stores until October. If you live near a large warehouse, you might want to check they're not storing copies there. Just in case there's a smiting being lined up.
