Keep Coxon out
Surely we're not about to see Graham Coxon about to rejoin the party-gone-off that is Blur? Alex James has been hinting that maybe he is:
Speaking to DJ Simon Mayo on BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday (December 6) the bassist admitted that he met erstwhile guitarist Graham Coxon recently.
James said : "I saw Graham last week. There may be some news there but I don't want to rush anything."
Coxon has been doing a procession of interesting, experimental and exciting stuff since he quit - Tell It Like It Is is about to single itself out in the States, for example, and Love Travels At Illegal Speeds an apt Christmas gift for self-respecting guitar lovers.
The stunted and sidelined Wig-Wam James/Betty Boo sideproject apart, those he left behind have hardly been creating work which suggests a creative peak. It may be a kindness for Coxon to offer to help out, but it's probable his time could be better spent elsewhere.
