Madonna returns to the movies

We thought that - aware her acting was so bad she could drag down any movie - Madonna had pledged to stay clear of any film set. Now, though, not only do we have her Kabbalah-comes-to-Malawi vanity doc to wait for, but there's also talk of her directing a comedy:

An insider said: “Madonna has Guy’s full support. She told him, ‘Anything you can do, I can do better, honey.’”

Well, yes, we're sure you can waste celluloid and stink up a flea pit far more effectively than Guy.

The movie supposedly starts shooting next month - Filth and Wisdom - although it's not listed on IMDB. What does appear, though, is that Madonna is getting a producer credit on next year's National Lampoon's This Is America. So she's steering clear of comedy, then.
