Venuewatch: Dirty Water Club winds up

After a hell of a run, The Dirty Water Club (based at The Boston Arms in London) is winding itself up. There's one last night, this Friday, which will feature The Priscillas, Lost Souls, Splinters and The November Fire.

The record label will continue; and there are plans for vague, ad hoc nights under the Dirty Water banner in the future. But the regular night? Catch it before it becomes history.

Billy Childish will continue to play at the same venue.

Dirty Water Records is currently compiling a box set of 7" vinyl singles, including one from each of Billy's bands from the Pop Rivets onwards.

So the label is going to take on responsibility for organising Billy's London gigs.

The label will also organise other gigs, but just occasionally.

If you sign up to the Dirty Water mailing list at http://www.myspace.com/dirtywaterclub you'll get to find out when something is going on.

This Friday with The Priscillas isn't the last one, by the way.

That will be Friday 19 June with original sixties garage band, in their 1966/67 line up, the appropriately named GONN. Supporting will be The Masonics and Speak & the Spells.
