First meeting: drummer Kate, slurring and sliding down the steps outside Manchester Academy after Electrelane's final gig there. "You musssst come to maaa baand's gig tomorrow"

Yeah alright.

Second meeting: Turn up at Islington Mill for the gig. Kate has both arms in cast. Cool! Some sort of punk gesture! A drummer who can't use their arms!

Er, no "Sorrry I'm struggling to play, I woke up with both my arms broken and I've no idea why."

They played anyway. Didn't make that much difference. They're bloody ace.
