FA attempt to liven-up third round draw; fails

I'm sure the decision to get two pop singers in to do the third round FA Cup draw yesterday was driven purely by the question of how to make a dull event more interesting, and was In No Way a bid to try and create a circus that would draw attention from the FA's global overlords, FIFA, getting outed on Panorama.

Trouble is, had Serge Pizzorno and Noel Gallagher not drawn their own teams against each other, it's unlikely anybody would even have noticed the shallwesayglitzy showbusiness event.

Serge and Noel. As off-putting a pairing for the FA as the Duke Of Kent and The Duke's Wife of Kent were, albeit for slightly different reasons.

I bet Gordon is watching that footage on a loop, wanking and crying.

Serge and Noel AND the soccer? Jackpot.

"The odds were astronomical" or 1 in 64, Noel. Actually, given when it was drawn (if the wikipedia order is right), 1 in 20. If those odd are astronomical I hate to think how he'd describe the odds of the Beady Eye album being any good.

Sorry, that should read "1 in 63". Obviously, I was so convinced by Noel's statement that I exaggerated my initial odds.
