DON'T YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU PLAY AT THIS LEVEL IT'S NO ORDINARY VENUE

We used to enjoy summer holiday TV schedule filler stalwart Play Chess!, partly because we're just kinky enough to enjoy the idea of a listing in the Radio Times trying to order us about like a cut-price dominatrix. Of course, the chances that William Hartston's insistence has led to Ryan Adams and The Strokes forming their own chess league is pretty slim; and we don't know how good Adams is. But surely it's now only a matter of time before they cover Murray Head's seminal One Night In Bangkok?
