EVANS CAUSES RIPPLES

There seems to be great upsetment over on the Radio 2 message boards - it's not so much the appointment of Chris Evans to the Radio 2 drivetime show as what users claim is censorship of complaints about the move.

Another listener, Helen May told MediaGuardian.co.uk she had also emailed Ms Douglas to no response. Meanwhile she believes the station is trying to play down the size of the backlash from listeners about Evans' appointment.

"I've posted on the message boards for almost three years and I've never seen it like this ... The censorship is rife, right across the R2 boards today, with people having posts removed just because they have said they don't like a particular programme. It would seem you just have to mention the name Evans and not being in favour and out you go," said May.

There do seem to be quite a lot of hidden messages right now, although the messages are still there.

Presumably, though, they'll be bracing themselves for the news that Davina McCall is getting a regular slot on the station...

More people than listen to any other UK radio station at the moment, over the course of a week...
