The hand of history is tapping on our shoulder
It seems hardly a week had edged by this year without one piece of chart history or another being made. Last week, it was the first ever top ten album chart which was all British; this week, slightly less excitingly, it's the 800th ever album to top the chart, in the shape of Norah Jones. Did anyone even squeak when the 750th album topped the list?
Norah is, of course, carrying all the hopes and probably half the jobs of EMI on her shoulders, so the company will probably be less-than-thrilled that she came within a half-dump-bin of being beaten to the number one slot by the Klaxons.
