98 Degrees to a name on the ballot?

Justin Jeffre is running for mayor of Cincinnati. Or at least thinking of it:

A former pop star says he wants to run for Cincinnati mayor [...]

Justin Jeffre of 98 degrees is a queen city native.
And what, you may wonder, is the main political question that is driving this interest in representing the people of the Queen City?
He's pitching the idea for VH1 to do a reality show on his mayoral campaign. The cable network is considering it.
Excuse me, I'll just be over here, trying to sob myself to death.

In 2011, Jeffre was arrested for his part in Occupy Cincinnati, so he does at least have some sort of record to campaign on. Other than his records.

We are the 99% from 98º

Amongst those arrested during the Occupy Cincinnati protests over the weekend: Justin Jeffre, formerly one of 98 Degrees. The Cincinnati Enquirer caught up with him when he was released:

"I spent the night in jail, and it was not fun," said Jeffre of Clifton Heights. "But it was the place to be if you are standing up for free speech."

Going to jail could be a good career move for Jeffre. Spending time behind bars inspired many blues and country artists to write some of their best material.

Jeffre wasn't sure.

"I didn't feel like singing in there," he said.
That probably came as a relief to the other people he was locked up with, to be frank. And it might take more than one night in jail to turn one of 98 Degrees into a latterday Ted Hawkins.

Nick blocks sex pix

Nick Lachey, who was in 98 Degrees and since then... well, hasn't been, is apparently rushing to keep pictures of him and his current, uh, person he appears in gossip columns with, Vanessa Minnillo out of the gossip magazines.

Pictures of them having sex in a hot-tub. Pictures, which, they say are a terrible invasion of their privacy:

Hollywood attorney Marty Singer has sent a letter to the weekly mags, warning them that should they publish the steamy pics, they'll face one mother of a lawsuit. Don't mess with Marty!

Singer told TMZ the photographer was "outrageous and malicious," adding, "The photos that were taken of our clients by a Mexican photographer violated Mexican law and were a clear invasion of privacy, and we have threatened to take legal action against third parties who publish the photos."

Wow. That really convinces us that somehow Nick Lachey and Vanesso Minipolo somehow managed to find a hot-tub in which they were simultaneously able to be photographed and feel private enough to shag with the terrible consequences that pictures are being hawked around the weekly magazines, and not some lame-ass publicity stunt to try and make people interested in Nick Lachey and Voom Issinoho.
