Anthrax don't quite last as long as Jessica Simpson

If Simpson fans feel short-changed, though, they're still better off than any Anthrax fans who sat through some sort of snowboarding contest in order to see a short set by their heroes. The snowboarding over-ran - presumably because judges found it difficult to decide who was best at sliding down some ice on a slippery thing - and so instead of forty-five minutes, Anthrax got to do three songs. One which was obscured by technical failures.

Still, Anthrax have said sorry:

We want to apologise to our fans who came out to the Red Bull event last night in the hellish cold to see us play. One of the snowboarding events ran very late, which caused us to delay the start of our set. That, and a curfew we were not informed about snowballed into an unfortunate situation that was beyond our control.

"No one was more surprised than us when they cut the PA before we could finish the third song. We are particularly mortified that this happened.

"Nothing like this has ever happened to Anthrax before, and we regret that it happened last night. Thank you to those who came out to support, and once again, our sincere apologies."

What makes it particularly galling is being bumped for people playing in the snow. It's like having your set cut short due to swingball over-running.

Anthrax hire personal trainer

Anthrax had been planning to reunite with their original singer for a tour next year, but - let's put this tactfully - things didn't work out. So, instead, they've hired a cheap alternative ("given a newcomer a big break"), picking up Dan Nelson, who had been a personal trainer prior to getting the job.

Apparently, Anthrax are now heading for the Glen Miller audience:

"The new songs are the real deal, they're really looking to recreate Anthrax," Nelson said. "They are looking to do something timeless."

Who wouldn't want to hear what an Anthrax for the ages sounds like, eh?

Anthrax tighten Slipknot

It's a marriage made in Hades: Corey Taylor is seriously considering an offer to join Anthrax:

It's kind of a dream come true, Anthrax is one of my favorite bands.

"We're just kind of taking baby steps right now. I know that we worked on about eight or nine songs together that I've written lyrics for.

"But there's nothing definite right now. It's one of those things where it's like we're just gonna kind of play it by ear and just see what happens. I'm in two huge bands right now. So it's like I barely get enough time to sleep, let alone do another band."

You must make more time to sleep, Corey. Lots and lots of time to sleep.
