Dave McCabe hands over the cash

As part of the sentence for headbutting a bloke in the street, The Zuton's Dave McCabe has been ordered to pay his victim £1,500.

The Independent had clearly been scanning album sleeves for appropriate songs:

The star - whose songs include Calm Me Down and Havana Gang Brawl - had attended his mother's 60th birthday party earlier in the evening.

I bet they were disappointed that he'd never done a song called Drunken Mistake. Perhaps for the next album, eh?

Dave McCabe granted conditional bail

Dave McCabe out of The Zutons has been granted conditional bail at a hearing yesterday. McCabe pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following a row outside the Korova club in Liverpool. He's accused of breaking a man's nose; he'll be back in court during the week of September 20th.

"She's an older lady," McCabe told the Daily Star. "In her late 40s, I think - and she won't leave me alone.

"She’s got my mobile number and keeps sending me pictures of herself with her tits out."

Meanwhile, somewhere in the country, a couple are reunited after one of them has spent some time on a business trip. She is blanching.

Some positive news about Amy Winehouse: Dave McCabe from The Zutons has made so much from the royalties he's got from Mark Ronson covering Valerie, he's invested in bricks and mortar and got a foot on the housing ladder with a house in Liverpool. The Daily Star reckons he's hoping it's going to be a big hit in America; must mean he's got an eye on a penthouse in Beetham Tower.
